René Janata Bormann, General Manager of Heidelberg Institute, was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia. He studied Foreign Commerce in conjunction with Airline Management in Colombia and Germany. He holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration specialized in International Business and Marketing in Mainz, Germany. He speaks five languages, is married and has three daughters and one son.
Mr. Janata Bormann has over 35 years of experience in the aviation industry working mainly for Deutsche Lufthansa. His career has always involved responsibilities in pioneering projects. Since 12 years especially in top management as CEO of RwandAir (Kigali, Rwanda), General Manager of Punto Azul and Ceiba Cargo and Handling (Malabo, Equatorial Guinea) and Deputy General Manager of flyCAA (Kinshasa, DRC). He brought his vast experience into starting-up and developing airlines in the African continent with its unique environment. Lived and worked also in the USA. Mr. Janata Bormann has ample experience in project management and dealing with various management decision requirements and building teams in charge of effective business processes for the success of companies. He expanded his intra-cultural know how and social skills focused on profitability of ventures with the most effective strategy. His deep cultural knowledge is reflected in understanding different mentalities and complex processes also in Information Technology making him a true team player.
